The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), University of Wah (UW), as part of its ongoing Distinguished Lecture Series, invited Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Executive Director, Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC), and Chairman, Islamabad Capital Territory-Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (ICT-PEIRA), to deliver a talk titled Transformation on Secondary Education in Pakistan on 10 September 2026.
In his discussion on “Transforming Secondary Education in Pakistan: IBCC’s Journey in Public Facilitation, Examination Reforms, and Global Recognition,” Dr. Mallah highlighted IBCC’s reforms in examinations, digital verification, and improved coordination among boards. He emphasized that these initiatives aim to elevate academic standards, enhance the recognition of Pakistani qualifications, and prepare students for various national and global career opportunities.
Following the lecture, Director- ORIC appreciated Dr. Mallah’s contributions towards improving student facilitation, examination processes, and institutional coordination. Prof. Jameel Un-Nabi, Vice Chancellor, UW, also acknowledged the national significance of the reforms and appreciated the opportunity to bring important educational policy discussions to the University.
An interactive question-and-answer session provided faculty members & participants an opportunity to discuss examination reforms, assessment methodologies, equivalence procedures, student facilitation, and future educational pathways. Prof. Dr. Shumaila Naz, focal person of the event, extended a formal vote of thanks to the distinguished speaker. The session concluded with Vice Chancellor-UW presenting a commemorative shield to Dr. Mallah, followed by a group photograph.
