Mechatronics Engineering

Welcome to the Department

Mechatronics Engineering

Mechatronics Engineering is a synergistic integration of various engineering fields i.e., Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer, and Control. Mechatronics is a significant stage in the evolutionary process of modern engineering. Engineers and scientists from all walks of life and fields of study can contribute to Mechatronics Engineering. As engineering and science boundaries become less well defined, students will seek a multi-disciplinary education with a strong design component. Advances in traditional disciplines fuel the growth of Mechatronics systems by providing “enabling technologies”, which mostly include:

  • Advanced Embedded Systems and Image Processing Techniques
  • Artificial Intelligence and Neural Networks
  • Nano and Micro-Electromechanical Systems (NEMS and MEMS)
  • Data Acquisition Systems and Smart Sensors
  • Humanoid and Bio-Inspired Robotics

The department aims to teach and train students how to select from a wide spectrum of career choices and contribute to industry in a variety of roles. It also aims to develop skills to design and execute different Mechatronics projects and formulate processes and techniques to carry such design problems effectively. The Mechatronics Engineering graduates are equipped with the knowledge of different technological domains.

The Department offers BSc and MS Engineering Programs in Mechatronics Engineering. These programs are designed to provide in-depth knowledge of the fundamental theories, design, analysis and operation of advanced mechatronics systems, and to enable graduates to do useful research in this field. Categorically, the program imparts education and research techniques in the field of Automation, Control, Intelligent Systems, and Robotics.

Vision

Provide quality education with matching professional skills, and ethical values to prepare competent and socially responsible engineers who can meet the present and future challenges and contribute positively towards economic development of the society.
