University of Wah (UW) has initiated an advanced short-term international training program under the COMSTECH Consortium of Excellence (CCoE) framework, reassuring its commitment to global engagement, innovation, and academic excellence.
UW welcomed a cohort of 17 engineering and computer science graduates from Sudan on 07 August 2026, accompanied by Mr. Tufail Dawar, Program Officer, COMSTECH Islamabad, for a two-week intensive training program scheduled from August 7 to August 20, 2026. The program focuses on emerging technology areas, including Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics.
The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Amjad Hassan, Director-ORIC, who highlighted the university’s academic achievements, research facilities, and strategic vision. The capacity building courses would be conducted by Prof. Dr. Hikmat Ullah Khan, Dean, Faculty of Computer Science; Prof. Dr. Hassan Nazir Chaudhry, Chairperson, Department of Computer Science; and Dr. Mumtaz Shah Ali Shah.
During an interaction with the fellows, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, welcomed the international participants and emphasized UW’s dedication to providing quality professional training through skilled faculty, advanced resources, and modern infrastructure. He also highlighted the potential of African nations and the importance of dedication and hard work for sustainable development.
The initiative marks a historic step in expanding the University of Wah's international collaborations. It aims to strengthen academic connections and create opportunities for future educational and research partnerships. Through these global engagements, the University continues to enhance its international presence and contribute to the advancement of technology-driven learning.
