University of Wah (UW) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hebei International Studies University on 14 May 2026, marking a significant step toward strengthening international academic collaboration and promoting global educational standards.
The agreement was formally signed by Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, and Academician Sun Jianzhong, President of Hebei International Studies University, China. The partnership marks the beginning of a new era of academic cooperation aimed at fostering mutual understanding, educational excellence, and cultural exchange between the two institutions.

The MoU provides a framework for various collaborative initiatives, including student and faculty exchange programs, joint academic and research ventures, cultural exchange activities, and resource sharing.
During the event, Academician Sun Jianzhong congratulated both institutions on this significant partnership, stating that the agreement marks a new era of friendship and academic collaboration between Pakistan and China. He also extended a warm invitation to the leadership and students of UW to visit HISU and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring an active and productive collaboration.
Welcoming the HISU delegation, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi highlighted the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and China and appreciated the efforts of the focal individuals from both universities in facilitating the agreement. He noted that the Higher Education Commission (HEC) encourages and supports dual degree programs between international partner institutions.
The Vice Chancellor further emphasized the immense potential for joint academic and departmental collaborations between the two universities and invited President Sun Jianzhong to visit the University of Wah campus. As a gesture of academic goodwill and cooperation, he also announced fully funded scholarships for two students from HISU, including complete tuition fee waivers and complimentary boarding and meal facilities.
