A two-year renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Wah Engineering College, University of Wah, and Government College of Technology Taxila (TEVTA) was signed on 14 May 2026. The agreement aims to strengthen academic cooperation further and promote collaborative initiatives of mutual interest between the two institutions.
The scope of cooperation includes the following key areas:
-Exchange and professional training of technical personnel and sharing of research materials for academic development
-Provision of tuition fee waivers by WEC-UW for qualified nominees and graduates of GCT Taxila
-Training and awareness sessions regarding admission entry tests at WEC-UW
-Formal recognition of WEC-UW as a collaborative partner and scholarship provider on the official website of GCT Taxila
-Joint coordination of scientific research activities and academic initiatives
The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Adnan Tariq, Principal, WEC-UW, and Engr. Naveed Buzdar, Principal, GCT Taxila, on behalf of their respective institutions.
During the ceremony, the Principal of GCT Taxila highlighted the significant enrollment of students in the disciplines of Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering. In response, the Dean of Engineering- UW emphasized the importance of motivating students to pursue higher education and advanced academic opportunities.
The discussion also focused on student support and professional development. Representatives of GCT Taxila requested career counseling sessions for their students, while Prof. Dr. Adnan Tariq and Prof. Dr. Amjad Hassan, Director-ORIC, proposed that WEC faculty members conduct specialized lectures and technical sessions for GCT students.
The Director ORIC welcomed the students of GCT Taxila and assured continued guidance and support in their pursuit of higher education. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the Dean of Engineering, who appreciated the participation and collaborative spirit of all attendees.
