A training session titled “Time Management” was conducted by the Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) on 30 April 2026 as part of the Positive Solution Training Series, aimed at enhancing the professional effectiveness and interpersonal communication skills of faculty members.
The session was facilitated by Dr. Malik Sikandar Mehmood, who served as the resource person. In his engaging and interactive talk, he highlighted the significance of effective time management as a key driver of professional success and productivity.
A major component of the session focused on the Time Management Matrix (Four Quadrants Model). Dr. Mehmood provided a comprehensive explanation of its four categories:
Through practical examples, Dr. Mehmood clarified the distinction between “urgent” and “important” tasks, encouraging participants to prioritize Quadrant 2 activities to minimize crises and improve long-term effectiveness. Faculty members representing various departments attend the session. Attendees contributed to insightful discussions by sharing real-life examples of important yet non-urgent responsibilities, such as research planning and curriculum development.
The training concluded on a positive note, with participants expressing appreciation for the practical insights and tools provided to enhance their time management practices.
