Department of Economics organized an insightful awareness session on the stock market that aligned with the university's commitment to providing comprehensive education. This session, held at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSE) Islamabad Office on 30 May 2024, aimed to equip senior students and faculty with a deep understanding of stock market operations, investment strategies, and market dynamics. Mr. Syed Tahir Hussain Shah, Lecturer, Department of Economics, was the focal person for this session. Dr. Abdul Mansoor, Lecturer in Economics; Ms. Rehana Ali Naqvi, Coordinator of Economics; Ms. Beenish Mehboob, Graduate Assistant; and Ms. Narjis Naqab, visiting faculty member, also attended the session. During the discussion, experts from the Pakistan Stock Exchange shared their insights on various aspects of the stock market, including market structure, trading mechanisms, and the importance of financial literacy. The successful session resulted in an invitation from the PSE to participate in monthly awareness sessions and provide internship opportunities, while the Department of Economics reciprocally invited stock market experts to the University of Wah for collaboration and knowledge sharing. This landmark collaboration between the Pakistan Stock Exchange and the University of Wah promises to enhance financial education, create valuable student opportunities, and enrich the academic environment with practical insights into finance and investment.
