Department of Biosciences, University of Wah, organized a seminar titled “Forestation Campaign” on 21 May 2026 at Academic Block C-UW under the framework of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13: Climate Action. The seminar aimed to promote awareness regarding environmental conservation and emphasize the critical importance of tree planting in combating climate change.
Faculty members and students attended the event, demonstrating the department's unwavering commitment to sustainability, environmental responsibility, and community awareness.
The keynote speaker for the seminar was Dr. Mian Muhammad Amanullah, who delivered an insightful and thought-provoking lecture on the significance of afforestation in mitigating the impacts of climate change, enhancing biodiversity, and maintaining ecological balance. He stressed the importance of collective efforts to protect natural resources and encouraged students to actively participate in environmental conservation initiatives.
The seminar concluded with an interactive discussion session in which participants exchanged ideas on sustainable environmental practices and the important role educational institutions can play in promoting a healthy and sustainable ecosystem.
