University of Wah (UW) and the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Punjab have entered into a five-year strategic partnership to officially launch the “Youth for Humanity” flagship initiative at the University of Wah. The agreement was executed in Lahore on 01 September 2026, under the directives of the honourable Governor of the Punjab and President of PRCS Punjab, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan.
The collaboration aims to engage university students in structured humanitarian activities, emergency preparedness, and environmental resilience. The initiative will focus on three key areas: integration of UW students into a digital blood donor network and annual campus blood donation drives; certified First Aid Training and Campus Emergency Response Teams (CERTs), including the development of Master First Aid Trainers and certified student emergency responders; and a Climate Action and Green Campus Program, through which students will serve as “Green Champions” and participate in plantation and environmental resilience activities in collaboration with the Red Cross/Red Crescent Climate Centre.
Under the partnership, PRCS Punjab will offer up to 30 annual internship opportunities to UW students and provide opportunities for outstanding volunteers to represent the University at national and international Red Cross/Red Crescent forums. The University will facilitate plantation projects, emergency mock drills and training workshops, and register student blood donors with the secure PRCS blood donor database. The project will be jointly supervised by nominated focal persons from both institutions, with progress and key performance indicators regularly reported to Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice-Chancellor, UW, and the PRCS leadership to ensure the initiative’s sustainability and effectiveness.
On the occasion, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice-Chancellor, University of Wah, presented a shield and a certificate of appreciation to the guest in recognition of the collaboration and support for the initiative. The partnership represents a significant step towards empowering youth through humanitarian service, strengthening emergency preparedness, addressing blood donation needs, and promoting environmental sustainability, contributing to a safer and more resilient Pakistan.
