Department of Psychology at University of Wah organized a one-day seminar titled “Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder: Challenges, Strengths, and Support” on 18 May 2026 in line with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Good Health & Wellbeing).
The seminar featured Ms. Mahala Anwar, affiliated with 7 Senses Child Development Center and YMIES, as the guest speaker. During the session, she delivered an informative and engaging talk on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), focusing on its characteristics, associated challenges, individual strengths, early identification, intervention strategies, and available support systems.
Ms. Mahala Anwar emphasized the significance of awareness, acceptance, inclusion, and community support in improving the quality of life for individuals with ASD and their families. She also highlighted the role of educational institutions, healthcare professionals, and society in creating an inclusive environment for neurodiverse individuals.
The seminar was attended by faculty members and students from the Department of Psychology, who actively participated in the interactive discussion session. The event provided valuable learning opportunities and enhanced participants’ understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and the importance of fostering empathy and support within the community.
