A training session titled “Effective Communication Skills” was organized on 05 March 2026 as part of the Positive Solution Training Series to enhance the professional and interpersonal communication abilities of faculty members.
Dr. Attique Raza served as the resource person for the session. During the interactive training, he highlighted the importance of understanding diverse communication styles and adapting communication approaches to strengthen professional relationships in the workplace. Explaining the concept of four communication styles, Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue, Dr. Raza discussed how individuals differ in their communication preferences, ranging from results-oriented, energetic styles to harmony-focused, detail-driven approaches. He emphasized that many workplace conflicts arise from differences in communication styles rather than negative intentions. The session also covered various communication behaviors, including passive, aggressive, passive-aggressive, and assertive communication, with particular emphasis on assertive communication as a key to building clarity, respect, and constructive professional relationships.
Faculty members from various academic departments actively participated in discussions on body language, listening skills, and adapting communication strategies for different audiences. The training concluded with the key message that effective communicators learn to adjust their communication style according to the needs of others, thereby improving collaboration and reducing misunderstandings in professional environments.
