Department of Psychology, University of Wah (UW), organized its 6th Mental Health Camp on 10 February 2026. The event was conducted under the supervision of Chief Organizer Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rizwan, with overall coordination by Dr. Noman Aftab, Ms. Rizwana Samreen, and Ms. Dimpal Kumari.
The camp aimed to promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma associated with psychological concerns, and encourage overall well-being among students and the wider community. The initiative provided counseling services, awareness activities, and interactive learning opportunities to foster a supportive and informed environment. The event was honored by the presence of Haji Muhammad Hussain (Positive Solutions) as the Chief Guest. The program was further graced by the Dean, Faculty of Basic Sciences (UW), the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences (UW), and the Director ORIC (UW), who commended the Department of Psychology for organizing a timely and impactful initiative.
The camp also witnessed participation from representatives of Riphah International University, Young Muslim Inclusive Education System, Sir Syed School, Wah Cantt, Senses Child Development School, Lahore Grammar School, Rising Shine School, and the Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning. Their presence strengthened inter-institutional collaboration and community outreach.
A dedicated Counseling Setup Team, supervised by Ms. Hajra, Ms. Habiba, and Ms. Haleema, provided professional, confidential, and empathetic on-the-spot psychological guidance, which received high appreciation from participants. Multiple interactive stalls, effectively organized and managed by Ms. Ayesha, actively engaged visitors through awareness-based activities and informative sessions on mental health topics.
The camp received overwhelmingly positive feedback from students, faculty members, and visiting guests. Participants particularly appreciated the interactive stalls, accessible counseling services, and well-organized arrangements. The initiative significantly enhanced awareness and understanding of mental health issues within the university community.
The collective efforts of faculty members and students made the 6th Mental Health Camp a meaningful and impactful step toward promoting psychological well-being and fostering a culture of openness and support at the University of Wah.
