In line with the University of Wah’s vision of providing “Quality Education for All,” Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rizwan, Chairperson, Department of Psychology, served as the lead resource person for a workshop on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) on 06 January 2026 at the Department of Psychology, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM).
The one-day training provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of both the theoretical foundations and clinical applications of DBT. Prof. Rizwan elaborated on the core pillars of the modality, including mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. The interactive format of the workshop encouraged participant engagement and created meaningful learning opportunities for both students and faculty members, significantly enriching their academic and clinical competencies.
In his concluding remarks, Dr. Tahir Farid, Head of the Department of Psychology at AWKUM, expressed sincere gratitude to Prof. Rizwan for sharing his expertise. He highlighted the importance of such professional development initiatives in strengthening clinical practice and enhancing psychological service delivery.
