Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, along with Prof. Dr. Amjad Hassan, Director ORIC, attended the first-ever Palestine–Pakistan Rectors’ Forum on “Higher Education and Scientific Research in Gaza: The Way Forward” held on 16 October 2025 at the OIC-COMSTECH Secretariat, Islamabad.
The forum, inaugurated by Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, brought together Rectors, Vice Chancellors, and Senior Academics from Palestine and Pakistan to strengthen cooperation in higher education and research. Organized by OIC-COMSTECH (Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation), the event served as a vital platform for fostering academic collaboration between the two nations.
Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the people of Palestine and commended COMSTECH’s initiatives to support Palestinian students and professionals, including the announcement of 5,000 fellowships for Palestinian youth. Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General, OIC-COMSTECH, emphasized the forum’s role in developing a roadmap for the rehabilitation and restructuring of Gaza’s universities and research centers.
The participation of the University of Wah leadership shows the University’s commitment to promoting international academic partnerships and contributing to peace, progress, and knowledge exchange through education.
