Department of Economics, University of Wah, organized the Opening Ceremony of a Two-Week Short-Term Training Program for Faculty and Staff under the CPEC Consortium of Universities on 06 October 2025. The training program, themed “CPEC and Ecosystem Restoration,” is being held from 06 to 17 October 2025 (10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. daily), focusing on the long-term sustainability of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and ecological restoration as a model of national success.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished Chinese scholars, including Dr. Cao Zhihong (University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing), Dr. Rao Rao Su (Guangzhou University), and Dr. Han Likun (Fudan University, Shanghai), who joined as international resource persons. Moreover, Commodore (Rtd.) Imran ul Haq, Director, China Study and Research Center, Bahria University; Dr. Khalid Waleed, Research Fellow, China-Pakistan Study Center, SDPI; and Dr. Ghulam Abbas, Head, Department of Computer Science, GIK Institute, also joined the event as Guests of Honor.
All speakers highlighted the enduring “iron brotherhood” between China and Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving mutual growth, sustainability, and knowledge exchange. The event concluded with the presentation of shields to the national and international guests in recognition of their valuable contributions to promoting academic collaboration and environmental cooperation under the CPEC framework.
