Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC), University of Wah, organized a hands-on training workshop on “Generative AI in Higher Education (Cohort-II)” on 18 September 2025 to promote innovation and capacity building. Dr. Haris Masood, Dean, Faculty of Computer Science, University of Wah, and Master Trainer of the PHEC Generative AI Workshop, Lahore, was the resource person. Prof. Amjad Hassan, Director of ORIC-UW, welcomed the participants, commended their enthusiasm, and highlighted the importance of integrating AI-driven practices into academic and professional domains.
Dr. Masood provided in-depth demonstrations of advanced Generative AI tools, including ChatGPT, Scispace, Semantic Scholar, Research Rabbit, QuizWhiz, Devin AI Programmer, and specialized GPTs. Faculty members from diverse disciplines actively participated in interactive exercises, applying these tools for the development of quizzes, assignments, research proposals, and academic analyses. The ethical implications of AI adoption in higher education were also highlighted. Dr. Haroon Waris, Project Director, National Electronics Complex of Pakistan (NECOP), also graced the event.
In his concluding remarks, the Director ORIC thanked Dr. Masood for delivering such an insightful and impactful workshop and appreciated the faculty members for their active engagement. E-certificates were distributed among all participants.
