Department of Islamic Studies, University of Wah, organized a Qirat and Naat Competition in connection with the 1500th Birth Anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), under the guidance of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC). The event brought together 90 students from 30 schools and 15 colleges across Wah Cantt, Hassan Abdal, Taxila, Haripur, and Havelian Cantt.
The competition provided a platform for students to showcase their talent in Quranic recitation and Naats, promoting spiritual growth and confidence among youth. Winners were awarded prizes and certificates by Dr. Mussarrat Malik, Chairperson, Department of Islamic Studies.
In Qirat (School Category), first position was secured by Qazi Arsalan (F.G. Public School #01 Boys, Havelian Cantt), while in the College Category, Hafiz Masab (School of Learning and Education, Taxila) stood first. In Naat (School Category), Mr. Muhammad Shehryar (F.G. Model Public School, Wah Cantt) won first place, while in the College Category, Ms. Mahnoor Imtiaz (F.G. Postgraduate College, Wah Cantt) secured first position. In her concluding remarks, Dr. Mussarrat Malik expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, faculty members, and organizers for their dedication and efforts.
