Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, participated in the Vice Chancellors’ Conference 2025, organized by the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) in collaboration with the Bargad Organization for Youth Development at Faletti’s Hotel, Lahore, on 30 August 2025.
The landmark conference brought together over 100 Vice Chancellors, Rectors, international experts, and policymakers, culminating in the adoption of the Conference Declaration-a bold roadmap for academic excellence, governance, financial sustainability, and innovation in Punjab’s higher education sector. The event featured addresses by distinguished international and national scholars, including Prof. Dr. Andreas Burkert (University of Kassel, Germany), Ambassador Dr. Asif Chaudhry (Washington State University, USA), Prof. Raheel Nawaz (Staffordshire University, UK), Dr. John K. Schueller (University of Florida, USA), Dr. Rehan Sadiq (University of British Columbia, Canada), Sardar Masood Khan (former Ambassador to the US and China), Dr. Tariq Banuri (former HEC Chairman), Mrs. Shahnaz Wazir Ali (SZABIST), Prof. Dr. Nizamuddin (former PHEC Chairperson), and Prof. Dr. Moeed Yousaf (VC, BNU). Collectively, they emphasized the integration of artificial intelligence, data science, and climate adaptation into academic programs and research, while also offering insights on transnational education, quality assurance, governance, societal cohesion, and the importance of strengthened international collaborations.
In his concluding remarks, HEC Chairman Mr. Nadeem Mahboob, Chief Guest of the event, hailed the declaration as “a turning point for universities in Punjab and beyond,” reaffirming the federal government’s commitment to its effective implementation. By participating in this pivotal forum, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi reiterated the University of Wah’s dedication to advancing national and global educational reforms, promoting innovation-driven research, and fostering sustainable development in alignment with PHEC’s strategic priorities.
