University of Wah celebrated the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan held on 13 August 2026. Prof. Dr Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and hoisted the national flag, followed by the National Anthem.
The event was attended by Registrar, Deans, Directors, Principal Staff Officers, Principal, Mashal Degree College, distinguished guests from Sudan, faculty members, staff, and students of the University of Wah and Mashal Degree College. A cake-cutting ceremony was also held to commemorate the joyous occasion.
As part of the Independence Day celebrations at Mashal Degree College, a series of patriotic speeches were delivered by the Chief Guest, Principal, and students, while documentaries highlighting Pakistan’s independence and national history were also presented. A patriotic walk was also organized, in which students showcased the diverse cultural heritage of Pakistan through traditional dresses representing different regions of the country. A plantation activity was held on the college premises, during which Prof. Dr Jameel-Un Nabi planted a sapling. The Vice Chancellor distributed cash prizes and certificates among the in-charge and members of the Horticulture Society of Mashal Degree College for securing first position in the Annual Spring Flowers/Lawns Competition 2026. Certificates were also distributed among students in recognition of their participation and achievements. The activities concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session for students on the significance of independence and national responsibility.
The celebrations were conducted in a patriotic spirit, reflecting national unity and pride. The occasion provided an opportunity to honour the sacrifices of the nation’s founding leaders and reaffirm the values of Unity, Faith, Discipline, and national responsibility. The enthusiastic participation of the UW Community made the celebration meaningful and reiterated their collective commitment to Pakistan’s progress, prosperity, and development. The event concluded with prayers for the peace, prosperity, and progress of Pakistan.
