Department of Psychology, University of Wah, organized a session on “Stress Management” at the UW Boys Hostel on 23 June 2026. The session was conducted by Dr. Noman Aftab, Chairperson, Department of Psychology, accompanied by Dr. Muhammad Amjid, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Maaz Ahmed, Lecturer.
During the session, Mr. Maaz Ahmed discussed the role of stressors in daily life and their impact on individuals’ well-being. Dr. Muhammad Amjid highlighted the concepts of positive and negative stress and their implications for mental health. He also addressed issues related to suicidal thoughts and behaviors, emphasizing the importance of timely support and intervention.
In his talk, Dr. Noman Aftab focused on the significance of resilience in coping with stress and overcoming life’s challenges. He encouraged students to adopt healthy coping strategies and seek support whenever needed.
At the end of the session, students were informed about the services offered by the Psychological Counseling Center. Dr. Noman Aftab explained the Centre’s role in providing psychological counseling and mental health support to students at University of Wah.
