Muhammad Idrees, Associate Professor, Department of Biosciences, University of Wah, delivered an insightful guest lecture titled “Indigenous Medicinal Plants” at F.G. Postgraduate College for Women on 14 May 2026. The seminar was organized by the Department of Botany and Ms. Zeenat Haq, Lecturer and In-Charge of UWSS, also attended the event as a distinguished guest.
The seminar commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a Naat presented by students of the BS Botany Department, creating a respectful and inspiring atmosphere. During the session, Dr. Idrees highlighted the historical significance and modern therapeutic potential of indigenous medicinal plants. He emphasized the importance of medicinal plant research, conservation, and their applications in healthcare and sustainable development. His engaging presentation encouraged active participation from students, who showed immense enthusiasm and asked thoughtful questions regarding the topic.

In recognition of his valuable contributions and efforts to raise awareness of indigenous medicinal plants, Dr. Idrees was presented with a certificate of appreciation by the Principal, Professor Zohra Jabeen. The event concluded by providing an excellent opportunity for academic interaction, networking, and discussions on future collaboration between institutions.
