University of Wah Business School organized an insightful Talk and Dress for Success session titled “The Power of Words” on 27 January 2026, under the auspices of the Literary & Debating Club and the leadership of the Business Leaders Professional Society (BLPS).
The session featured Dr. Sania Arif as the resource person, who delivered an engaging discourse on the profound impact of language on human thoughts, emotions, behavior, and leadership effectiveness. She emphasized how conscious word choice influences self-belief, relationships, and emotional well-being.
Dr. Sania Arif referenced the experimental work of Dr. Masaru Emoto, highlighting how positive and negative words affect water crystal structures, reinforcing the concept that words carry energy and influence the surrounding environment. She also shared key insights from neuroscience, noting that while the human brain receives millions of bits of information per second, only a limited portion is consciously processed, underscoring the importance of selective attention and mindful communication. An interactive activity allowed students to reflect on personal experiences related to the power of words, fostering self-awareness, empathy, and meaningful dialogue. The session concluded with a strong message on responsible communication as a vital academic, professional, and leadership skill.
