Department of Islamic Studies, in collaboration with the Social Sciences Society, University of Wah, organized an international seminar titled “Empathy and Ethical Responsibility in Interfaith Education: Responding to Modern Ethical Challenges” on 15 December, which was attended by around 800 students from various departments. It aimed to foster ethical awareness and interfaith harmony among students and faculty.
Syed Badi Ud Din Soharwardi Shah from Canada, who delivered the keynote address, emphasized the importance of interfaith education in fostering empathy, mutual respect, and ethical responsibility. He highlighted contemporary challenges such as intolerance, extremism, and moral disintegration, noting that these can be addressed through dialogue and shared human values.
The event was graced by Dr. Jameel Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, as the Chief Guest, alongside Prof. Dr. Asim Karim, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, and Dr. Musarrat Malik, Chairperson, Department of Islamic Studies. The seminar concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, reflecting students’ strong interest in interfaith ethics and contemporary moral challenges.
