Department of Economics, University of Wah, organized a seminar titled “Launching and Scaling Startups in the Age of AI: Method, Myth, or Madness?” under the banner of Academic Collaboration on AI and Startups on 18 December 2025.
The seminar brought together faculty members, researchers, students, and aspiring entrepreneurs, offering an engaging platform to examine the evolving role of artificial intelligence in entrepreneurial innovation. The session was conducted by Dr. Musstanser Tinauli, an internationally renowned entrepreneurial expert and thought leader in design thinking, smart cities, and technology-driven innovation, who shared insights drawn from his extensive global experience across Europe, South Asia, and the United States. He highlighted the transformative impact of AI on startup ecosystems, encompassing idea generation, product development, scaling, and long-term sustainability.
The discussion effectively bridged academic concepts with real-world entrepreneurial practices, while an interactive question-and-answer session encouraged critical thinking and active engagement among participants. The seminar also contributed to institutional capacity building by exposing students and faculty to international best practices in innovation and entrepreneurship, thereby strengthening industry-academia linkages. Participants appreciated the relevance of the topic and the depth of insights shared. The event concluded with the presentation of the University souvenir to Dr. Musstanser Tinauli by Dr. Asim Karim, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, and Dr. Amjad Hassan, Director ORIC, followed by a group photograph.
