Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah (UW), undertook a series of academic and institutional activities at Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), Türkiye, including a research seminar, visits to academic and research facilities, and interactions with faculty members, researchers, and students.
As a guest speaker at a Nuclear Astrophysics Seminar organized by Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and Letters, MAKÜ, on 28 September 2026, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi delivered a talk titled “The Role of Excited-State GT Distributions in Lifting Pauli Blocking at Finite Temperatures in Neutron-Rich N=50 Isotopes.” The seminar, held at Faculty of Science and Letters Conference Hall, focused on his research concerning Gamow-Teller transitions, finite-temperature effects, and excited-state contributions in neutron-rich nuclei, with particular relevance to electron-capture processes during the collapse of massive stars.
Faculty members, researchers, and students attended the seminar, followed by a question-and-answer session that provided an opportunity for scholarly discussion and academic exchange. In recognition of his contribution to the seminar, Prof. Dr. Nabi was presented with a certificate of appreciation.
During his visit, VC-UW also toured laboratories and academic and research facilities at MAKÜ, gaining insight into university’s research infrastructure and academic environment. His interactions with faculty members provided further opportunities for the exchange of academic perspectives and discussion of areas of shared research interest.
The visit provided a valuable platform for scholarly exchange, international academic interaction, and strengthening research linkages between University of Wah and MAKÜ.
