A delegation from the University of Wah (UW), to foster meaningful partnerships and promote community engagement, experiential learning, and inclusive education in Pakistan, visited the Young Muslims Inclusive Education System (YMIES) in Hassan Abdal on 17 July 2026 to explore opportunities for collaboration in inclusive education, student engagement, and experiential learning.
The meeting was chaired by Wing Commander (R) Tariq Ikram, Chairman of YMIES, and Ms. Farhat Anwar, President/Director of YMIES, who co-chaired the meeting. by Wing Commander (R) Tariq Ikram, Chairman YMIES, and Ms. Farhat Anwar, President/Director YMIES. The University of Wah delegation comprised Prof. Dr. Amjad Hassan, Director, Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC), and Mr. Aman Khan, Manager, Placement.
During the briefing, Ms. Farhat Anwar highlighted YMIES' role as a registered organization working under UN-defined frameworks and presented its initiatives, including the 7 Senses Development Center for Autism. She outlined the institution's integrated model of academic education, rehabilitation, and skills development, where children with special needs learn alongside their peers in an inclusive environment.
As a result of the visit, University of Wah agreed to place seven students at YMIES for internships, including four from the Department of Management Sciences and three from the Department of Psychology. Nominations for four students have already been shared, while the remaining nominations are expected by Monday.
The delegation also toured the institution's classrooms, rehabilitation units, and skill development centers and viewed creative crafts produced by students. Prof. Dr. Amjad Hassan appreciated the institution's state-of-the-art facilities and commended YMIES for its outstanding contributions to inclusive education and skill development.
