Department of Chemistry, University of Wah, organized a Capacity Building (CB) activity titled “Unlocking Chemistry with Machine Learning -A Practical Workshop” on 18 June to introduce participants to the emerging applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning in chemical sciences.
The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Humaira Razzaq, who served as the resource person, while Ms. Ayesha Shafique delivered expert sessions as the guest speaker. Their insightful presentations provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the integration of machine learning techniques in chemistry and related disciplines.
The workshop covered key areas, including the fundamentals and significance of machine learning in modern chemical research, hands-on training with machine learning tools for chemical data analysis, and applications of machine learning in electrochemical sensors with a focus on sensor design, prediction, and analytical performance.
Through interactive lectures and practical demonstrations, participants gained valuable exposure to contemporary computational approaches and explored the transformative potential of machine learning in advancing chemical research and innovation. The activity provided an excellent platform for students and researchers to develop interdisciplinary competencies and strengthen their understanding of emerging technologies in chemistry.
