The Placement Office-ORIC, University of Wah (UW), in collaboration with the Faculties of Engineering, Computer Science, Basic Sciences and Management Sciences, organized the Annual Open House & Job Fair 2026 on 19 May 2026. The event provided a vibrant platform for strengthening academia-industry collaboration by promoting student innovation, professional networking, and employment opportunities.
The event featured more than 90 Final Year Projects (FYPs) presented by graduating students from the Faculties of Computer Science and Engineering. The projects highlighted innovative solutions in smart technologies, sustainable design, process optimization, automation, and digital transformation. The project exhibition attracted the attention of industry experts, academic professionals, and recruiters, who appreciated the students’ technical competence, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
In addition to the project exhibition, students from all faculties, including Basic Sciences, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, and Computer Science, actively participated in the Job Fair. More than 64 renowned organizations representing technology, manufacturing, consultancy, banking, education, and engineering sectors participated in the event. Prominent participating organizations included Wah Industries Limited, Startup Coworks, Wah Nobel (Pvt.) Limited, FNRCO Group, LINRCO Consultancy, Elegsoft, Gearoom, Thrive Marketing, Phitech Solutions, and Global Study Linkers (GSL). Representatives from these organizations interacted with students through recruitment drives, networking sessions, career guidance activities, and on-the-spot interviews, providing valuable information about emerging market trends and career opportunities.
Malik Sherafghan, Additional Secretary General, the Hattar Industrial Association, and CEO of Standard Ceramic Industries (Private) Limited, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. During his visit to the project exhibition, he greatly appreciated the innovative ideas and technical expertise demonstrated by the students. He commended the efforts of the University of Wah in promoting strong industry-academia linkages. He emphasized the importance of further enhancing collaborative partnerships to support industrial growth and workforce development in the country.
The event was also graced by distinguished Guests of Honor, including Prof. Dr. Muhammad Junaid Mughal (T.I.), Director, Campus, COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus; Dr. Attique Raza, CEO, Positive Solutions; and Mr. Haji Muhammad Hussain, Chairman, Master Group of Industries.
In his welcome address, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, industry representatives, and participants. He acknowledged the valuable role of industry collaboration in preparing graduates for the evolving professional landscape and appreciated the dedication of students, faculty members, and the ORIC team for making the event a remarkable success. He further endorsed the university’s vision to foster innovation, research excellence, and practical learning opportunities that contribute to the professional growth and future success of students.
The event concluded with a shield and certificate distribution ceremony to recognize the contributions of participating organizations, sponsors, and outstanding student projects. Prof. Dr. Amjad Hassan, Director, Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC)-UW, delivered the vote of thanks and reiterated the university’s commitment to promoting experiential learning, strengthening industry engagement, and creating future opportunities for collaborative ventures and professional development.
