TEDx University of Wah: A Platform for Innovation, Inspiration, and Intellectual Exchange

Department of Computer Science, University of Wah, organized TEDx University of Wah on 07 February 2026. The event marked an important milestone and a significant achievement for the University, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and intellectual engagement under the globally recognized TEDx platform. The event was organized under the official TEDx license held by Mr. Saim, a student of the Department of Computer Science, who served as the TEDx License Holder and Organizer, with Mr. Shaheer, also a Computer Science student, serving as the Co-Organizer. TEDx University of Wah brought together approximately 300 participants, including students, faculty members, professionals, and distinguished guests, for a full day of intellectual discourse, inspiration, and creative expression centered on ideas worth spreading.

The event commenced with a formal opening ceremony, which included the National Anthem, followed by an introductory TEDx video. The ceremony was honored by the presence of the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, who delivered the welcome address. In his address, he emphasized the pivotal role of universities in nurturing critical thinking, innovation, and socially responsible leadership in the modern era.

Session I featured a series of impactful talks by renowned speakers. Dr. Mohsin Zahid, CEO of Neuron Solutions, delivered a thought-provoking talk titled “Evolution of Consumer Behavior in Pakistan.” This was followed by Mr. Mehmood Ahmed, a visionary educationist and social reformer, who shared his inspiring journey in “The Power of One Idea: Building 650 Educational Institutions from a Single Room.” The session concluded with a motivational talk titled “Fear Chases the Smiles” by Ms. Syeda Tasneem Fiza, an international inspirational speaker. At the conclusion of the session, the Chief Guest distributed shields to the sponsors and speakers in recognition of their valuable contributions. Session II commenced with Dr. Muhammad Sadiq, Project Director and Assistant Professor at SUIT, who delivered an insightful talk titled “Smart People Still Make Bad Decisions.” He was followed by Ms. Rabail Pirzada, Advocate and Chief Coordinator at PFFB, who presented a powerful experiential talk titled “Experiencing Without Eyes: A World Built on Sound and Feeling.” Ms. Rooshan-e-Alam, Clinical Psychologist and Trauma Specialist, addressed the audience on “When Advice Becomes Harm: How the Internet Hijacked Our Understanding of Mental Health.”The speaker sessions concluded with Dr. Attique Raza, who addressed contemporary youth on the topic “Youth Challenges in the AI Era,” highlighting the importance of adaptability, leadership, and ethical responsibility in an increasingly technology-driven world.

The event formally concluded with the distribution of shields to the second-session speakers. The closing segment featured Qawwali and artistic performances, providing a memorable and culturally enriching conclusion to the event. TEDx University of Wah was attended by 250 general participants, along with 50 guests and other invitees, including representatives from esteemed sponsors Wah Industrial Limited (WIL), Wah Nobel Group, Positive Solutions, and 4P Group. The event served as a vibrant academic and intellectual forum, fostering dialogue, inspiration, and collaboration between academia, industry, and society.
