University of Wah conducted a comprehensive Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative from 15-18 December 2025, under the supervision of Dr. Jamil Ahmed Sheikh, Focal Person. The initiative aimed to educate students about human trafficking, its various forms, associated risks, and effective preventive measures.
The program began with detailed sessions led by Dr. Jamil Ahmed Sheikh, who highlighted the challenges posed by human trafficking and emphasized the responsibility of students in identifying warning signs and promoting awareness within the university and the broader community. On 16 December 2025, students actively participated in a poster-based awareness session. In Stalls, students presented informative posters and engaged their peers in discussions, fostering peer learning and encouraging civic engagement. The awareness drive continued with class-to-class sessions conducted on 17 and 18 December 2025 across various departments to ensure wider outreach. These sessions reinforced key messages on vigilance, ethical responsibility, and preventive action against human trafficking.
The initiative helped to engage students and enhanced their understanding of ethical responsibility, informed decision-making, and collective action, echoing the University of Wah’s pledge to promote social awareness and safeguard human rights.
