Directorate of Student Affairs, University of Wah, celebrated the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan with great zeal and national spirit. The celebrations commenced with a Flag Hoisting Ceremony in front of the University Auditorium, where Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and hoisted the national flag. The ceremony was attended by Deans, Directors, Chairpersons, faculty members, staff, and students, who paid tribute to the sacrifices of the nation’s founders. The gathering concluded with special prayers for the prosperity, security, and integrity of Pakistan, reflecting the true essence of patriotism at UW.
The program continued with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the National Anthem, followed by a speech that highlighted the historical significance of Independence Day, the immense sacrifices of the forefathers, and the vital role of the youth in carrying forward the mission of nation-building. As part of the day’s activities, students presented a documentary on Pakistan’s history, culture, and heritage, which received appreciation for its creativity and relevance. A painting and sketching competition and a history quiz competition were also held, allowing students to showcase their artistic skills and knowledge while celebrating the spirit of independence. To further instill patriotic values, a spirited Patriotic Walk was also organized, where participants marched together to celebrate the values of independence, unity, and national pride. The day concluded with a Plantation Drive, symbolizing a collective effort towards a greener and sustainable future for Pakistan. Dr. Bilal Ahmed, Director, Student Affairs; Ms. Shehla Nazmeen; and Engineer Waqas Javed, Deputy Director, Student Affairs, UW & WEC, respectively, also attended the celebrations.
