A delegation from the University of Wah participated in an event held at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) on 11 August 2026, organized in collaboration with the Vice Chancellors Forum of Federal Universities and Universities from the Twin Cities. The event focused on promoting digital transformation and developing indigenous, cost-effective digital solutions to address the evolving needs of Pakistan’s higher education sector.
The University of Wah delegation comprised Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, and Mr. Rehan Farooq, Director IT. During the visit, the delegation met with Rector CUI, Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, and expressed appreciation for his kind invitation and warm hospitality.
The event provided an opportunity for university leaders to witness innovative digital solutions being developed locally by Pakistani universities to address the emerging requirements of the higher education sector. On the occasion, the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, emphasized that such cost-effective digital solutions should be made available to other universities so that the wider higher education sector could benefit from locally developed innovations.
The initiative shows a shared commitment among Pakistani universities to digital transformation, innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing, while contributing to the development of a more efficient and digitally empowered higher education ecosystem.
