Department of Chemical Engineering, Wah Engineering College, University of Wah, in collaboration with the AIChE UW Chapter, organized an industry–academia seminar titled “Shaping Engineering & Science Careers through HSE: Safety, Risk & Global Employability” on 02 June 2026.
The seminar featured Mar Bilal Ahmed Shah, Senior HSSE Manager (Middle East), as the keynote speaker. Drawing upon more than 25 years of international professional experience across the oil and gas, infrastructure, construction, and industrial sectors, Mr. Shah shared valuable insights into the evolving demands of the global engineering landscape. During the session, he emphasized the growing importance of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) practices in professional development and organizational success. He highlighted key industry expectations, international career opportunities, and strategies for enhancing employability in an increasingly competitive global market. The discussion also pointed out the importance of safety leadership, risk management, and continuous learning in building successful engineering and science careers.
The seminar witnessed active participation from students and faculty members. An engaging interactive discussion and question-and-answer session provided attendees with an opportunity to gain practical perspectives on aligning their academic preparation with industry requirements and global professional standards.
