Faculty Development Program (FDP) – Cohort-V

The Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC), University of Wah, organized the Faculty Development Program (FDP)-Cohort-V on 04 November 2025 to enhance the pedagogical and professional competencies of newly inducted faculty members from various departments of the University. Prof. Dr. Amjad Hassan, Director ORIC, welcomed the participants and resource persons. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the significance of continuous professional development in ensuring high-quality teaching and fostering meaningful student engagement.

The program featured a series of insightful sessions conducted by experienced faculty members. Dr. Saleem Iqbal, Chairperson and Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, delivered a session on Effective Classroom Management Techniques and Examination Conduction. Dr. Kashif Iqbal, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, discussed Emerging Trends and Strategies in Higher Education with a particular focus on patents and research article writing. Dr. Mehwish Jabeen, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, shared practical strategies for engaging university students in active learning.

The interactive sessions helped participants to equip themselves with modern teaching methodologies, classroom dynamics, and innovative approaches for student engagement. In his concluding remarks, Prof. Dr. Amjad Hassan emphasized the importance of applying learned practices rather than relying solely on theory. He highlighted that effective educators serve as role models, reminding participants that “students are more influenced by what you are than what you say.” The program concluded with a note of appreciation from the Director ORIC, who commended the participants and resource persons for their active involvement and contributions toward fostering a culture of academic excellence at University of Wah.
