The Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC), University of Wah, organized a hands-on training workshop on “Generative AI in Higher Education” on 19 August 2025. Dr. Haris Masood, Dean, Faculty of Computer Science, University of Wah, and Master Trainer- PHEC Generative AI Workshop, Lahore, conducted the session. Dr. Masood delivered practical demonstrations of leading AI tools, including ChatGPT, Scispace, Search Smart, Research Rabbit, Inciteful, Jenny, QuizWhiz, Futurehouse, Trinka, and Devin AI Programmer.
Faculty members from various departments who actively engaged in hands-on exercises to explore real-time applications of Generative AI in teaching and research attended the workshop. Participants gained practical skills in generating quizzes, assignments, and research proposals, as well as analyzing research papers. The session also underscored the ethical dimensions of AI adoption in academia.
In his closing remarks, Prof. Amjad Hassan, Director, ORIC-UW, praised the participants for their enthusiasm and encouraged them to integrate AI-driven practices into their professional work. He also expressed gratitude to Dr. Masood for conducting an insightful and impactful workshop that significantly contributed to innovation and capacity building at the University.
