Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah (UW) met with the Rector of Middle East Technical University (METU), Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil at his office on 24th September 2026. The Advisor to the President METU, Prof. Dr. Ömer Delialioğlu was also present in this high-level meeting. VC UW and Rector METU expressed solidarity between the two nations and discussed strategic collaboration between the two universities. The meeting was a follow up of the meeting of the two Rectors earlier in Islamabad when a high-level delegation from the Republic of Türkiye including the President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) visited Pakistan from 13-15 September.
Middle East Technical University ranks 269th worldwide in the QS World University Rankings, placing it first among all universities in Türkiye.
The discussions focused on opportunities for joint research, academic exchange, and other mutually beneficial initiatives, with the possibility of establishing formal institutional linkages through Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) soon.
The meetings provided a valuable platform for exploring avenues for sustained cooperation between UW and METU and are expected to pave the way for future collaborative research and academic initiatives.
The engagements reflect UW’s commitment to strengthening international academic partnerships and expanding opportunities for research collaboration and academic exchange.
