Department of Chemical Engineering, Wah Engineering College, University of Wah, organized an exclusive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) session titled “SUI Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) - Networking System: Infrastructure, Challenges, and Future Innovations.”
The keynote speaker, Engr. Muhammad Rashed Javed, Executive Metering Engineer at SNGPL, delivered an insightful and technically enriching presentation on the design, operation, and management of gas pipeline networking systems. Engr. Javed holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from UCLA (USA) and dual MS degrees from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain) and TU Eindhoven (Netherlands), bringing extensive international academic and professional experience to the session.
During the interactive session, Engr. Javed highlighted the critical infrastructure of Pakistan’s gas transmission network, discussed operational and metering challenges, and explored emerging technological innovations shaping the future of the energy sector. His discussion provided students and faculty with valuable exposure to real-world engineering applications, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industrial practice.
The session concluded with formal closing remarks by the Chairperson of the Department of Chemical Engineering, who expressed sincere appreciation for the valuable industry insights shared. As a token of recognition, a Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Engr. Rashed Javed. The event was the strong industry-academia collaboration fostered by Wah Engineering College and underscores its commitment to enhancing professional learning opportunities. Such engagements with leading organizations like SNGPL create pathways for research collaboration, internships, and career development in chemical and energy engineering.
