Dr. Asma Arif, Assistant Professor and Chairperson, Department of Economics, University of Wah, participated and highlighted Pakistani researchers' commitment to global collaborations and scientific advancement in the China-Pakistan Joint International Symposium titled “China-Pakistan Joint International Symposium on The Economically Significant Plants of Himalayas-A Shared Wealth of Pakistan and China,” organized by Pakistan Academy of Sciences, Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) on 26 April 2024. The symposium brought together researchers and participants from China and Pakistan to highlight a joint scientific exchange project and strengthen collaboration despite modern geopolitical challenges. The event provided an opportunity to exchange research ideas, discuss common challenges, and find solutions to enhance cooperation. In their talk, Dr. Asma Arif and Dr. Shujaul Mulk Khan discussed the harmful effects of carbon emissions on human life and emphasized the importance of collaborative research in addressing this crucial environmental challenge. The joint scientific exchange project, led by Dr. Shujaul Mulk Khan, Associate Professor of Plant Sciences, Qauid-i-Azam University Islamabad, and Dr. Jie Liu Kunming Institute of Botany (CAS) China, aims to strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and China in diverse research domains through knowledge exchange and collaboration opportunities that will help advance scientific progress and address shared challenges.
