The Centre of Excellence (CoEx), UW Business School, University of Wah, organized a two-day training program titled “Basics of Project Management: From Ideas to Execution” for General Managers, Managers and Assistant Managers (AMs) of Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF), Wah Cantt, on 22-23 September 2026.
The training was organized in support of POF’s ongoing HR modernization and capacity-building efforts, focusing on developing practical project management skills and strengthening participants’ ability to plan, manage, and execute projects effectively. Mr. Malik Aizaz Ahmad, PMP, Certified Project Management Professional and Agile Coach, served as the trainer, while Mr. Syed Saqib Ali Shah, University of Wah, participated as Co-Trainer.
The sessions adopted an activity-based and practical approach, covering key areas including stakeholder mapping, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), project scheduling, critical path analysis, and risk-response strategies. Hands-on activities enabled participants to relate project management concepts to practical organizational requirements and departmental challenges. The training received positive feedback from POF participants for its practical and interactive approach.
The program highlights the University’s commitment to professional capacity building and strengthened collaboration with Pakistan Ordnance Factories, and provides a foundation for future collaborative training initiatives between the two institutions.
