Department of Chemical Engineering, Wah Engineering College, University of Wah, in collaboration with the AIChE UW Chapter, organized “Engineers Core,” an academic and professional development event on 15 January 2026, aimed at bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world engineering practice.
The event featured two key modules: “Voice of Change” and “Industry Insight.” In Voice of Change, students presented engineering-based solutions to community problems, emphasizing the role of engineers in societal development, whereas the Industry Insight module focused on students’ internship experiences, highlighting practical skills and knowledge gained from industrial exposure.
Faculty members actively interacted with participants by visiting the panaflex displays and engaging students through critical discussions. An evaluation committee assessed the presentations using a structured rubric, and outstanding performers were recognized as winners and runners-up for their analytical, design, and presentation skills.
The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Adnan Tariq, Dean, Engineering, as the Chief Guest. He appreciated the quality of student work and encouraged participants to transform community-based problem statements into final-year projects to enhance societal impact. In his concluding remarks, Dr. Saleem Iqbal, Chairperson of Chemical Engineering Department, commended the students’ enthusiasm and acknowledged the AIChE UW Chapter for organizing a meaningful and impactful event. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in developing socially responsible and professionally competent engineers.
The Engineers Core event reinforced the significance of experiential learning and demonstrated the commitment of Wah Engineering College to fostering practical, community-oriented engineering education.
