Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rizwan, Professor, Department of Psychology, University of Wah, delivered an insightful session on “Radicalization and Terrorism in Pakistan: Role of Academia in Countering Violent Extremism (CVE)” for the Postdoctoral Fellows of the Islamic Research Institute (IRI), International Islamic University, Islamabad, on 11 November 2025.
The audience included Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, and Professors from various universities across Pakistan. Dr. Rizwan shed light on the psychological aspects of radicalization and emphasized the pivotal role of academia in fostering peace, tolerance, and national cohesion. He highlighted the need for developing research-driven strategies to counter extremist ideologies and reinforce social harmony. Dr. Rizwan also reassured that the University of Wah remains committed to supporting all academic endeavors aligned with the efforts of the Armed Forces of Pakistan in promoting stability, unity, and resilience across the nation.
