Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC-UW) organized an exclusive workshop titled “Navigating RASTA PIDE- From Research Idea to Funded Proposal (Session II)” on 17 July 2025. The workshop aimed to equip faculty members with the knowledge and tools necessary to apply for the upcoming RASTA CGP-8 Call, an initiative by the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) to support policy-relevant research.
Prof. Amjad Hussain, Director, ORIC, warmly welcomed the participants. The session featured Engr. Shoaib Muhammad, Head of the Departmental Research and Research Ethics Committee (Civil Engineering, UW) and recipient of the prestigious RASTA PIDE CGP-6 Grant. Drawing from his experience, Engr. Shoaib guided participants through the key steps of developing competitive research proposals, understanding funding requirements, and aligning research ideas with national policy needs. Participants gained valuable insights into proposal writing, evaluation criteria, and effective research impact strategies.
