Department of Biosciences, University of Wah, in collaboration with University of Wah Science Society (UWSS), organized a seminar titled “Synergizing Ecosystem: Reforestation, Soil Health, and Protecting Ancient Forests- Holistic Approach to Climate Resilience and Biodiversity” on 28 April 2025. Ms. Saima Naz Malik, Senior Research Officer at the Agriculture Department, KPK, was the guest speaker. Ms. Malik delivered an engaging talk on climate change, focusing on SDG-13, deforestation, and the role of forests in carbon sequestration. She emphasized community-led reforestation, sustainable practices, and integrated efforts involving research and policy reforms. Ms. Naheed Malik, lecturer, Department of Biosciences, coordinated the event. Prof. Dr. Shumaila Naz, Chairperson, Department of Biosciences, thanked the speaker and highlighted the department’s commitment to environmental advocacy and community engagement. A commemorative shield was presented to Ms. Malik in recognition of her contributions.
