University of Wah's Science Society (UWSS), in collaboration with Department of Physics, hosted a prestigious Renowned Scientist Talk by Dr. Muhammad Sultan Irshad, Assistant Professor at Hubei University, China, on 30 January 2025. The talk, titled "Recent Advancements in Hybrid Interfacial Solar Evaporation: From Fundamental Research to Application", was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Deans, Directors, faculty members, and students.
The session under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Uzma Ghazanfar, Dean, Basic Sciences and Patron-in-Chief of UWSS, provided invaluable insights into the latest developments in solar applications, focusing on hybrid interfacial solar evaporation technology. Dr. Irshad highlighted the potential of this technology in converting raw, impure water into fresh, drinkable water, offering promising solutions to water scarcity. He also explored exciting opportunities for academic collaboration between the University of Wah and Hubei University, Wuhan, China. He emphasized the potential for UW students to pursue master's, Ph.D., and postdoctoral research opportunities at Hubei University, facilitated through a Two-Way Student Linkage Agreement. The partnership seeks to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two institutions, paving the way for additional joint ventures in materials science and rechargeable batteries. Following the lecture, attendees engaged in an interactive Q&A session, and the event concluded with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi presenting Dr. Irshad with a token of appreciation.
University of Wah thanks Hubei University’s International Office for its continued support in strengthening academic ties between Pakistan and China, fostering research in materials science and rechargeable batteries.
