A lecture on Smog Awareness and Quality Education was delivered on December 11, 2024, by Mr. Muhammad Haroon, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering, and Dr. Saleem Iqbal, Chairperson of Chemical Engineering. The session, attended by over 300 students of Post Graduate College for Women, Wah Cantt, highlighted the urgent need for addressing environmental challenges and the importance of quality education in shaping a sustainable future. The students actively participated and displayed a keen interest in the topic, recognizing their role in combating smog and promoting awareness for a healthier environment.

University of Wah, to advance literary, the enduring spirit of unity and learning, proudly contributed to the success of the Family Festival & Book Fair 2024. This two-day event from 07-08 December 2024, held at POF Guest House, Wah Cantt, was organized by the National Book Foundation (NBF) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Bhatti Book Center, and with support from the UW Alumni Association, as a proud community partner. The festival witnessed a strong emphasis on fostering a love for reading and literature among attendees of all ages. Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice-Chancellor, University of Wah, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his inspiring address, he highlighted the transformative power of unity and the pivotal role of books in shaping intellectual and moral foundations. His message, "Be united—that's it," resonated deeply with the audience. He also visited the different stalls at the festival and appreciated their efforts to promote the culture of lifelong learning.

Mr. Murad Ali Momand, Managing Director of NBF, and the Founder of Bhatti Book Center, contributed significantly to the event's success. Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor-UW, and Mr. Shuja Ur Rehman, President of UW Alumni Association, received shields as a token of appreciation for their invaluable contributions. University of Wah FM 101.8 actively covered the event, engaging with representatives from various schools and colleges to highlight their participation and unique offerings. The festival also emphasized strategies to make books accessible through subsidies, public library initiatives, and innovative campaigns.

Department of Sociology, University of Wah organized a community outreach event titled "Campus to Community: How College Students Can Drive Local Development through Civic Engagement" on 30 October 2024 at Government Associate Degree College for Women in Gadwal, Wah Cantt. Dr. Jameel Ahmad Sheikh, Chairperson, Department of Sociology, attended the event, and Ms. Shehla Nazmeen, Senior Lecturer, Sociology Department, was the resource person. Students and faculty members enthusiastically participated in the event, underscoring civic engagement's importance in fostering local development. The activity featured engaging discussions on the role of students in community service and development, with experienced facilitators, including teachers, sharing practical approaches to effective community involvement. The participants' overwhelmingly positive feedback, highlighting the relevance and impact of the topics they covered, reassured the event's success and the confidence it instilled in the community. This initiative is a significant step toward reinforcing the role of young leaders in community development and promoting a collaborative approach to addressing local issues.
