University of Wah is pleased to announce that Dr. Nasir Mehmood, Chairperson/Associate Professor, Department of Management Sciences, along with his team, has been awarded the prestigious RASTA Competitive Research Grant (Round 7.0) under the RASTA CGP Stream. The research aims to explore and promote inclusive economic opportunities for people with disabilities through the innovative use of digital gig platforms.
Dr. Nasir Mehmood will serve as the Principal Investigator (PI) for the research project titled “From ‘Disable’ to ‘Gigable’: Leveraging Gig Platforms for Inclusivity and Well-being of People with Disability.” This collaborative initiative includes Co-Principal Investigators Dr. Kamil Hussain (Assistant Professor, Department of Management Sciences), Dr. Atif, and Ms. Sarah Khan (Director, Directorate of Media and Publications, University of Wah). The project has secured a grant of Rs. 3.47 million for an eight-month research period, commencing from 15April 2025.
This highly competitive grant was awarded based on the recommendations of the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of the RASTA program, managed by the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE), Islamabad. The project will be mentored by Dr. Zahid Asghar (QAU) and Dr. Nasir Iqbal (PIDE), under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Nadeem Javaid (Chairman, RAC) and Dr. Faheem Jehangir (Project Director, RASTA CGP).
