Read Pakistan UW-WEC Chapter, to celebrate artistic expression and encourage students to engage deeply with reading and creative writing, organized an inspiring Book Club & Poetry Event on 04 June 2025. The event began with a soulful recitation of the Holy Quran by Ihsan ul Haq, setting a thoughtful and reflective tone. The book review segment featured insightful presentations: Ms. Ruqaiyah Hayat shared a profound analysis of Ishq ka Ain by Abdul Haq Haqi, while Ms. Hina Zubair examined the historical and philosophical themes in Shuroo Aagahi by Imam Ubaidullah Sindhi.
The poetry session brought powerful performances from Mr. Sher Afzal (PhD scholar, UW), Mr. Shahzaib (Virtual University), Mr. Usman Haider (UET), and Ms. Noor (UW), each presenting original poetic works that showcased their creativity and unique voices. A key highlight of the event was an engaging session led by Dr. Asim Kareem, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities, titled How to Give a Review of a Book. His talk provided practical strategies and valuable insights for effective book reviewing. Ms. Riffat Naseer, the focal person of the Read Pakistan UW-WEC Chapter, also attended the event and appreciated the participants for their contributions.
The event concluded with a closing ceremony where certificates were awarded to reviewers, poets, and contributors in recognition of their dedication and outstanding performances. The event successfully promoted a culture of literary appreciation and creative expression among students.
