Read Pakistan UW-WEC Chapter organized Mehfil-e-Sukhan, a national self-written poetry competition, on 06 May 2025. Mehfil-e-Sukhan served as a vibrant platform for emerging poets to present their original work and connect with fellow literary enthusiasts from across the nation. The event brought together talented student poets from various universities, including National University of Pakistan, Islamabad; Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi; COMSATS University, Islamabad; Virtual University, Wah Cantt Campuses; and Air University, Islamabad. Mr. Saeed Sadhu and Mr. Sibghatullah, a renowned poet and alumnus of University of Wah, respectively, served as judges for the competition. Ms. Shehla Nazmeen (DDSA-UW) and Ms. Musarat, Chairperson, Department of Islamic Studies, attended the event organized by Ms. Riffat Naseer, the Chapter’s focal person. Syed Shahzaib Bukhari from National University of Pakistan, Islamabad, clinched the first position while Mr. Ahsan Sarim, from Virtual University, Wah Campus, secured the runner-up position. Shields were awarded to the winners and judges, and certificates were presented to all participants in recognition of their creative contributions.
