Engineering Survey Lab

Keeping in view the importance of survey in civil engineering, the survey laboratory maintains necessary equipment for the entire survey practice at the undergraduate level. The laboratory work involves traversing, triangulation, plane table survey, contouring, levelling, and the use of advanced survey equipment such as EDM.

Geotechnical Engineering Lab

The laboratory is equipped with the basic testing facilities which covers the practical work for the physical and index properties of soil. Moreover, the equipment for basic element testing in laboratory and field tests are also available. The laboratory work provides the students with the essentials of fundamental knowledge as well as the testing and interpretation of geotechnical problems encountered in field. The laboratory is equipped with Triaxial Testing Machine, Plate Load Test Assembly and other important equipment related to Soil Mechanics.

Environmental Engineering Lab

The Environmental Engineering Laboratory is a state of the art, well-equipped laboratory that is able to perform most types of laboratory analyses related to environmental engineering. This lab is mainly intended for qualitative and quantitative analysis of the characteristics of water, waste water and other environmental pollutants.

Transportation Engineering Lab

All tests for highway construction like aggregates, subgrade and bitumen can be tested in the laboratory. The tests that can be performed are Abrasion tests, Bitumen tests, Crushing and Impact tests on aggregates, CBR tests, ductility test, Marshall test.

Fluid Mechanics Lab

The laboratory has free and forced convection unit, film and drop wise condensation apparatus, shell and tube heat exchanger, concentric pipe heat exchanger, heat flow in jacked vessel & cooling tower. The heat transfer lab is established to familiarize the students with the science of heat transfer so that they can apply the basic fundamentals for smooth running of process equipment.

Strength of Materials Lab

The Mass Transfer Lab is established to introduce students with the most important separation equipment in the process industry and provide hands-on training of the proper operation of these units. The laboratory has liquid diffusion apparatus, tray dryer, CO2 absorption column, batch distillation column, continuous distillation column and liquid-extraction unit. This helps in not only understanding the theoretical fundamentals of the subject but also to visualize its real-world applications in the process industry.

Computer Aided Design Lab

A well-equipped computer lab with advanced facilities is established for the benefit of the civil engineering students. High end terminals supported by latest hardware and software and latest visual aids are among them. Advanced civil engineering software are procured for making the students globally competitive and industry ready. At CAD lab, students get professional training on 2D & 3D plotting of civil engineering drawings using the latest version of AutoCAD software.
