Department of Chemical Engineering, Wah Engineering College (WEC), held CHEMEX 2.0, a national technical event organized by the AIChE WEC Chapter, drawing participation from top Chemical Engineering students across Pakistan. The event featured 10 technical modules, including the Aspen Simulation Challenge and VisioVerse, which tested students' problem- solving and innovation skills. Participants came from COMSATS University, Lahore (15 students); PAF-IAST, Haripur (11); and PIEAS, Islamabad (2); and faculty from Cadet College Hassanabdal also attended the event.
Engr. Syed Abdul Ghafar Shah, Safety Consultant, Founder of Meta EnVision, and former officer at Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF), was the Chief Guest, inspiring attendees with insights from his career. COMSATS University, Lahore Campus, won the House Cup, with team members Mr. Mahad Iqbal, Mr. Eesa Bin Noman, Mr. Hafiz Ghulam Murtaza, Mr. Muhammad Shahzad, and Mr. Haseeb Akram leading the way.
In closing remarks, Dr. Saleem Iqbal, Chairperson, Department of Chemical Engineering, praised the AIChE WEC Chapter, faculty in charge, and the organizing committee for their dedication and meticulous planning. CHEMEX 2.0 highlighted the importance of technical excellence and academic collaboration in shaping Pakistan’s engineering future.
